At Phantom, we pride ourselves on making the most durable and reliable splitboard bindings on the planet. Each feature of every one of our products is designed with these two goals in mind. Our goal is to make a splitboard binding that will take you anywhere that you dream of going, year after year.
We want to hear from you, our customers, about your experiences with your Phantom bindings. Born in 2012, Phantom Splitboard Bindings are the first splitboard bindings designed around lightweight alpine touring (AT) boots. While the term "hardbooting" is often used to describe the setup, Phantoms are designed to flex, ride and feel like traditional snowboard bindings and perform as well in deep powder conditions as they do during the spring snowboard mountaineering season. Phantom's SplitTech System combines the best tech-style touring equipment with a patented splitboard binding and interface. In tour mode, this equates to greater efficiency, reduced swing weight, increased confidence when sidehilling and kicking steps, and a more secure method for attaching crampons to your boots. In ride mode, you can expect a reliable and consistent fit and a powerful connection to the board, which translates to better board response and ride feel.
Phantoms are the best splitboard binding I’ve used. I’ve been splitboarding for over 20 years and this is the simplest and most reliable system I’ve used. I raced skimo for almost ten years and knowing how well that ultralight gear works made splitboarding extra difficult. The Phantom setup brings the light weight efficiency of skimo race gear to snowboarding, which is amazing!
After using and testing Phantoms during the last month, in a range of alpine conditions, I can only say that I’m pleased I’ve made the switch... After investing in a new system it is always a relief to know that you made the right decision.
Received my order for M6 Bindings, Cleats, Tech Toes, Rocket Risers and Link Levers and have been enjoying them here around Chamonix. I am really stoked, I can say with confidence that I’m not going back to soft boots any time soon. The Backlands with Link Levers are a game changer! So much weight savings it’s ridiculous. And they ride amazing too. Thanks so much for making an amazing product!
